SILENT HILL 3

You think it's scary being lost...just wait until you're found...

The much-awaited third saga in the Silent Hill series takes us back to our favorite town of horror, but Team Silent makes you work for it! For the first time we begin our journey not in the foggy streets we know so well, but in a shopping mall in the next, unnamed town over. Also, for the first time, Konami introduces the series' first-ever female protagonist, Heather Morris.

Heather wakes up in a restaurant at the mall. She calls her father to check in, then continues on her way...but she is soon pursued by a Private Investigator who claims that someone from her past has been looking for her. In typical teen fashion, Heather gives him an attitude, then the slip. But after just a brief moment outside to sneak through another door, Heather finds that the mall has changed...it's dark, deserted...and full of monsters.

Silent Hill 3 offers better maneuverability, more destructive and creative weapons,  and takes you to many environments you've never explored, as well as a few familiar places you have. This is definitely the darkest and bloodiest installment in the Silent Hill series, and if you've been a fan of the first game, you will REALLY enjoy all the familiar little discoveries along the way.

Think you heard something behind you? This time you did - Sony integrated S-Force, an audio effect using echoes to create the illusion of surround sound.

Soundtrack Included! With all US distributed versions of Silent Hill 3 came a pleasant surprise - the soundtrack was included! A combination of spoken word and music, the Silent Hill soundtracks are very unique from previous OST. Akira Yamaoka, for the first time featured songs with vocals. Female vocals provided by Melissa Williamson are both melancholy and powerful, while the soundtrack's producer and English lyricist, Joe Romersa provided awesome, unique vocals for "Hometown." Joe also provided vocals on "Rain of Brass Pedals," a track which is available on the complete soundtrack cd. Be sure to check out our exclusive interview with Joe Romersa on the soundtracks page! This soundtrack is so popular among fans and so effective that most of the Silent Hill movie soundtrack was from Silent Hill 3!

Woah, De ja vu...as Heather, you get to explore Silent Hill locations from BOTH of its predecessors, including Brookhaven Hospital, Heaven's Night and Lakeside Amusement Park. Play Silent Hill 3 on the same memory card as Silent Hill 2 and Heather will make some amusing observations along the way!
