PYRAMID HEAD
Tito B. Burbano, Equador
"Here in my country, Ecuador, we have a tradition, every New Year's Eve, exactly at midnight, we burn a mannequin of whoever we want, to symbolize the year that is ending. But this dummy (I am gonna call it like that from now on) does not represent something bad. Sometimes it someone we respect, care or admire; other times it is someone who we hate or despise. It would sound weird but it is an important event here, and I don't mean that PH is someone who I hate...I really admire the background story of this character so that's why I choose him. Also because it's going to scare the hell out of my friends when they see "him". I know, every foreigner who sees this says: "why doing a dummy so perfect and beautiful so you are going to burn it anyway?". Well, neither we as Ecuadorians understand that but it is a tradition, and a really funny one."
First, he sketched ideas:
Then, Tito began his horrible creation...
And soon the grand Executioner began to take form...but then, a strange thing happened. Pyramid Head, as we know, does not go out easily. Tito's father nearly destroyed the mannequin and then while Tito left Pyramid Head outside to dry, IT RAINED!!
Pyramid Head missed his New Year's execution. Two sleepless nights later, Tito had resurrected the fiend and here you see him below:
Great work, Tito! We enjoyed following the step-by-step process of Pyramid Head's construction. Tito says: "Hope you enjoyed the concept (people think I gave it too much work on the pictures because according to them "it`s just a game" but I like this culture behind SH)."
Damn skippy. "Just a game?" We know better. A little free time and a lot of Silent Hill obsession can go a long way.

miscellaneous items for his creations, including plastic, glue, cloth, dirt,
aluminum foil and rubber bands.

LEFT: Robbie Win Skateboard Deck
I wanted something unique when I set out to spice up this old skateboard deck one day, and having what else on the brain, I painted this design using acrylic paint and a clear gloss coating. The Japanese on the side reads, "Silent Hill." I also added the save points in the hope that I can reset after falling on my ass.
RIGHT: Pyramid Head Pumpkin
Halloween 2004 brought what else but thoughts of Silent Hill...so again wanting something unique, I designed this Jack-o-Lantern using my favorite villain from Silent Hill 2. As seems to be the theme, Pyramid Head brings a curse wherever he wanders...I proudly displayed my creation on top of our entertainment system. After a day (and luckily after some pictures) the pumpkin started to rot and leaked some sticky ooze into the stereo, temporarily ruining the CD player. Damn you, Pyramid Head, Damn you!!
